xxx-HOLiC Kei 12 ~Truth~

This is not something I really cared to see at two in the morning when I watched this.

Himawari finally admitted to Watanuki that she brings bad luck to people around her. Since childhood, a series of bad things have been happening to people who are around her – from a friend’s house burning down to a teacher being stabbed to death by his mistress. (Makoto???) When her grandmother brought her to a Shinto shrine, they learned that she is not haunted or have any strange powers, but is a person who will only bring misfortune to everyone around her, except for her parents who bore her to the world. She said her farewell to Watanuki, but he countered by saying that they will still be eating together in school. Himawari then placed in a special request of a strawberry chiffon cake before going out the door. She made Doumeki, who was seated just outside the door, promise not to tell anyone about the cake. But Doumeki said that the three of them will be eating cake together.

It was revealed (but not to Watanuki) that she in exchange for his life, Doumeki paid the price of giving blood of equal amount lost. Outside, Himawari started crying, thanking Watanuki for making her happy to have met him and how happy she was that she paid the price of taking his scars.

When Yuuko and Watanuki had a discussion about Himawari, Yuuko told him that the price in exchange to remove her curse is too great because it will cause her all the happiness she will ever feel. She was going to be lonely for the rest of her life. Yuuko handed watanuki an egg in exchange for drawing the water from the well and told him to sleep with it. That morning, it hatched with a bird that he gave to Himawari, saying that it was born for her sake. Watanuki ended up naming it Tanpopo who Himawari couldn’t decide a name for it.

…but Tanpopo is so cute!

Finally! They released the subs for this one. The two groups who have been doing this show since episode 1 suddenly bailed out on the second to the last episode. Not that I didn’t know what was going to happen that I didn’t blog it when it was released, but this show has made so much changes from the manga version, I didn’t want to speculate on what happens anymore.

Well… I’m over the fact that they omitted all Tsubasa Chronicles crossovers (three people actually paid for Watanuki’s recovery – Syaoran included). I have to say that this episode was really enjoyable, meaning considering all the changes they made in the storyline to delete all possible crossovers with TRC. This would have actually made a decent last episode. Actually, with the way that they ended the episode, it seemed like a last episode, but there’s another one coming, which is about the electric guy whose story I read once and never looked at again so I don’t remember it much anymore.
